My Dad....is he famous?
My Dad has been up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan fighting the big forest fire up in the Newberry area. Last I heard it was over 19,000 acres and has been burning for over a week. Dad is currently back home, after serving as Safety Officer up there for a week. Not sure if he'll be having to go back or not. It will all depend on what happens with the fire. At any rate, while he was there, he had a meeting with the Governor and had his photo taken with her for the AP. Check it out here and here We like to tease him that he's now famous. Not sure he thinks so!

Well sure he's famous! We all get our 15 minutes, whether we want them or not. Wow, big fire. I visited our friends at the lookout in Montana, and a fire that started while I was there on Rombo Mountain is now 20,000 acres. We've had rain and more rain, so no fire danger here. S.
